Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is going to miss the rest of the season due to the groin injury according club manager Kenny Dalglish. A definitive cause of the problem is not yet known.

Gerrard underwent surgery in March and although he had returned to training, he has been ruled out of the club’s remaining 7 games. This is devastating news as in order to qualify for European competition in the 2011/12 campaign, Liverpool must finish in fifth position.
