Kenny Dalglish has said that he is calm over the Steven Gerrard situation. Dalglish though, maintains that he will make do with the resources at hand, rather than worry about the players who are unavailable to him. Speaking on Steven Gerrard’s absence for the next three games, the Liverpool manager said, “Any team which has Steven Gerrard in it is going to be much better than one without it. But we have to get on with it and the most important people for us are the ones which are available, not the ones who are unavailable because they can't dictate the result of games.”
Steven Gerrard was shown a straight red card by referee Howard Webb after lunging in on Michael Carrick during Sunday’s F.A Cup encounter at Old Trafford. The Liverpool manager said after the game that the sending off was harsh; however, he chose not to appeal the decision.
The automatic three match ban means that Gerrard will miss Wednesday’s game against Blackpool, and perhaps more importantly, Sunday’s decisive derby against Everton. But the Liverpool manager insists that he is not fazed by the unavailability of his captain.
